Charter
What We Do
We seek to become a strong and coordinated legion that fosters a fun and productive environment for all members to play and become a driving force in the game.
Rules
Members of Zephyr will be expected to follow these rules at all times. Violators of Legion rules will be confronted by a Senior Officer of the Legion and dismissed from the Legion if they repeatedly show an inability to comply. Understand that this is a living document that adapts as the Legion evolves. It is here to place the best interests of the Legion's progression first and foremost.
- Zephyr members are expected to treat anyone you encounter with respect. This applies to your Legion-mates, members of other Legions, and GMs. This also includes a certain level of respect for your enemies. We are all players and you are a representative of Zephyr in everything you do. Fostering a trustworthy and respectable community within our home, the Legion, will excel us forward in our relationships and throughout the game.
- Zero Drama Policy. Avoid drama, and keep your emotions in check. By keeping a calm exterior, you give the Legion and your Legion-mates a stronger image. When you lose your temper in public, you make us all look weak. If you have a problem, take it to whispers, or talk to a Senior Officer of the Legion.
- Any discussions that take place on Zephyr Discord, guild chat, or other Zephyr communication mediums are considered confidential and therefore should not be disclosed elsewhere. When streaming or recording video please be respectful and use proper measures to obfuscate the Legion chat from the public eye. The Legion is a safe space for our members and we would like to keep it that way.
- In any Legion Event, such as raids, please do what is asked of you. While you may speak up if you have a simple suggestion or question, please do not argue with orders in the middle of an event. If you disagree with the way an encounter was handled, it can be discussed in whispers or in private on Discord afterward. This includes loot distribution. We want to be diligent in our progression through content. Though, we will not forget that we are a team, and will therefore act and move like one.
- Zephyr is a PvPvE Legion, so please do your best to constantly learn and improve to raise your capacity. We all make mistakes, and there are things we could all do better. Strive to polish all such aspects of your performance, and always want to do even better. If you have any questions at all, ask your Legion-mates; someone is sure to know how to help. Again, remember you represent the guild when you play, and you should always seek to make us look strong.
- When a major issue occurs within the Legion, action may be taken immediately. The action taken may include, and not be limited to, kicking from in-game Legion and/or removal from the Discord server. The reason for this is to avoid any type of speculation and instead influence a productive and mature discussion among the Legion regarding the issue. We also want to make the Legion aware that the issue is being handled. Upon the post-action investigation's resolution, an official decision will be made and detailed to the Legion.
- If you have any concerns please bring them to the attention of a Senior Officer of the Legion. Communicate to the Officers via Discord, send a whisper in-between events, or send an in-game mail. We want to make sure that everyone's concerns are addressed, but we can not solve the issues of which we are not aware. If you have a legitimate problem with another Legion member, contact a Senior Officer of the Legion in private, and we will do all we can to resolve this while completely respecting your privacy. When making a report to an Officer, we also ask that you provide as much incriminating proof as possible. It is extremely difficult, and usually impossible, to properly and fairly act on word-of-mouth accusations.
Anti-Cheating Policy
Our Legion promotes a cheat-free environment and we intended to keep the Legion running this way. The Legion is extremely strict on the idea of no cheating and no hacking. Anything that goes against the respective game's Terms of Service is frowned upon by Zephyr and may result in immediate dismissal from the Legion. We want our foes to know that we have beaten them with skill and tactics rather than the use of third-party programs.
Communication Policy
We primarily use Discord to maintain a consistent communication between everyone, so use it. Chats like Legion, League, Alliance, and Group are to be used in their own respective contexts and with who is available to see them.
Anything that goes against the respective communication medium's policies is frowned upon by Zephyr and may result in immediate dismissal from the Legion.
Please remember that our Discord is meant to be a safe space for our Legion to communicate. Keep in mind that we do have channels with non-Legion members. Know that, given the proper evidence, we will be even swifter in their removal if they become a problem. We take harassment and all other Community Guideline violations very seriously and will not hesitate to take action. Please report all of your findings to a Senior Officer of the Legion.
Failure to join or leaving the Discord server may result in dismissal from the Legion.
Discord Rules
To invite players to our Legion Discord use the discord.gg/zephyr link. If you do not follow these rules you may be globally muted. Repeat offenders will be preemptively muted in Discord during future raids and events.
- During Legion Events, do not have side discussions in the Voice or Text Channels. We need everyone to be focused on the task at hand.
- The best times to speak up are: you notice something that could affect the team's primary goals (e.g., scouting reports, enemy flanking, or urgent heal/dispel needs), emergencies, or computer crashes/lag issues if you are playing an integral role such as a tank, healer, or leader.
- Do not leave open mic if you are not actively talking in the channel. It can be aggravating to others and unproductive for everyone to hear things unrelated to the context of the voice chat.
- Please use a Discord nickname that would be known to your fellow Legion members. One may be given to you by a Senior Officer of the Legion. Any non-Legion members will automatically be given a name that would be most identifiable to the Legion.
- Feel free to invite anyone and everyone into our Discord. We are a community of gamers and intend to always cater to being a home as such. If any of the invitees are Legion Friends or apart of an Allied Legion, please let a Senior Officer of the Legion know to give them such role.
- When streaming in Discord channels accessible to non-Legion members, please hide Legion chat by creating a new chat tab that does not have Legion chat visible. Not doing so would be a violation of Rule #3.
Aion Online Charter
Below you will find all Aion Online specific policies and rules. These only apply within the Aion Online Legion and are not enforced in other games. Please refer to the respective game's charter for information on Legion policies involving those games.
Invitation Policy
We run a fairly tight ship, although we do welcome friends and family via vouching. There are a few ways that we approach recruitment. However, all recruits who join the Legion are expected to abide by the Legion Charter just like everyone else. Only a Senior Officer of the Legion may invite members into the Legion.
By choosing to be apart of the Zephyr Legion you agree that you are, at minimum, joining on the character that you primarily play. Understand that contesting the Legion or your Legion-mates in any way may result in consequences including dismissal from the Legion.
Prospective members are required to provide the names of their active characters, whether in a different legion or faction, and update newly acquired characters in the future to avoid any conflict of interest. Obfuscating or otherwise hiding any identities at the expense of the Legion or the Legion members may result in dismissal from the Legion. Please be sure to review Rule #3 regarding the Legion communications privacy.
Recruitment Paths
- Referral: Current Legion Members of the legion may refer their family, friends, and other players that you find competent enough to play with. The referred recruits may be briefly interviewed by a Senior Officer of the Legion to gain an understanding of who they are and to get to know them a little bit before inviting. The members that vouch must message a Senior Officer of the Legion to register their vouch. Note that the number of vouches required to join may fluctuate between 1-5 based on how widely we are recruiting. Once a prospect gains the number of vouches needed, their name will be posted to the legion for a short time. This gives time for anyone to voice their objections.
- Static Group: If you have a four to six-person static group and would like to play as a Legion alongside other strong and like-minded individuals then please contact a Senior Officer of the Legion to discuss having your group join us.
Vouching System and Methodology
Vouching for a member means that you put your name down endorsing them as a great fit for the legion in personality, skill, and competency.
A bad example of vouching would be: Offering your vouch for a friend's friend to join the Legion, while you personally do not know, trust, or would normally play with that person.
The actions of the invitee reflect upon the people that vouched for that person. The referrer's future ability to vouch may be taken under a microscope and/or suspended until further notice.
The Vouching System exists to assure the following things stay true:
- Only competent players that we want to join are able to join the legion.
- Everyone has people to play with, be it in static for PvPvE instances, normal PvP groups, and just playing together in general.
- You can trust that when you look to the Legion for people, you know that you can trust they will bring their all and be competent enough to keep up and/or learn fast enough to not fall behind too far ever.
- You are able to invite players to the Legion that you find competent enough to join your static. Yet, can also look to the legion to be a pool of competent players as well.
This method allows us to keep a close-knit legion of players that support and are responsible for each other.
You must have been an active member (have the Legionary title) for at least two (2) weeks before being allowed to supply vouches.
Objections
Current members of the Legion may voice their objections during the grace period after a Prospect has gained enough vouches and before they are granted an invitation to the Legion, the Prospect's name will be posted in the Legion Discord. Objections carry a similar weight to vouching. Please do not object unless you have a proper reason to. We are here to play and progress together and each Legion Member's goal should be to assist in maintaining a productive environment within the Legion.
Once objections are collected they will be considered and a decision will be made by a Senior Officer of the Legion.
Like vouching, you may not object if you have not been an active member of the legion (have the Legionary title) for more than two (2) weeks.
Alt Characters
Alt characters are allowed, as long as we have the room. Alt characters will be kicked to make room for active main characters. The Senior Officers of the Legion will try to be as diligent as possible upon which alt characters we choose to kick out. We play together because we are strong together and we have fun together. However, it is encouraged that you focus on what you find most manageable for you to continue to play on par with the rest of the Legion.
Inactivity Policy
You are a valued member of this Legion. As mentioned in the Alt Characters section, alt characters will be kicked to make room for active main characters. Inactive players will also be kicked to make room for active main characters. To avoid removal in the event that space is needed, please give notice of any expected upcoming inactivity. It will help us understand the current state of the legion and adapt as needed.
Leaving the Legion
If you are planning on leaving the legion, please voice your reasons to a Senior Officer of the Legion before dropping out. It would be courteous to not just leave without any notice at all. We need to make sure to get ahead of any possible drama and leaving randomly can do that. We would rather be aware of your intentions and reasoning than try to triage it after the fact.
If you voluntarily leave the legion, and your re-invite is not signed off by a Senior Officer of the Legion beforehand, you will be required to re-obtain vouches to receive a new invite. Abuse of this policy may result in a restriction of future invites among other possible penalizing actions.
Aion Legion Ranking System
Currently, Aion Online has the following Legion ranks below. This will explain a bit more about how we utilize this system.
- Brigade General
- The acting leader of the Legion.
- Deputy
- Acting Senior Officers of the Legion. Take action to lead and organize the legion from within or work with the Brigade General to assist with outward appearances and communication. Become recognized for your efforts and you will be rewarded.
- Centurion
- Trusted Legion Member. Centurion is given to all trustworthy Legion Members. This is done so that they may have Artifact access given that Aion only allows Centurion and above to activate Artifacts. You are now trusted to act reliably and in a cohesive manner when making decisions with the legion and therefore should act as so.
- Legionary
- Normal Legion Member. You have been a Legion Member for at least one (1) week. You are able to utilize the Vouching System to invite other players to the Legion.
- Volunteer
- Trial Legion Member. You have been newly invited to the legion.
Recruitment Process Summary
- Accomplish one of the following: Gain enough vouches to be considered for a Legion invitation, or qualify your group for the Static Group recruitment path.
- Senior Officer will post your name(s) in our Legion announcements to inform the Legion that you will be joining after 24 hours. This allows for Legion members to object and convey concerns about your invitation(s) via the Objection policy.
- You are then invited to the Legion and given the proper role in Discord upon inviting.
Instance and PvP Grouping/Statics Policy
Legion members are encouraged to create statics within the legion and accept other legion mates as substitutes. Of course, PUGing is allowed. Make sure to ask in Discord as well before PUGing. Not everyone can be AFK online at all times, though many may be available nonetheless. If you are building a static and find competent players that are outside of the legion, you may recruit them. Refer to the Invitation Policy section for information on recruitment requirements and procedures.
Loot Distribution
This is how we attempt to keep Loot Distribution fair and reasonable among those in the legion. Those who disobey these Loot Distribution policies may be barred from looting for a period of time or indefinitely.
Groups and Statics
When creating a group or static please be sure that all members have an understanding of how loot will be distributed. Lacking that understanding may lead to drama and we do not want anything to do with that.
Legion Members are to be looked after first and foremost. Though, ninjaing loot from anyone in the game may result in immediate dismissal from the Legion or other repercussions.
Raids and World Bosses
For Raids and World Bosses, the loot is to always be set to Leader loot so that the designated Alliance or League captain will be the one to securely claim the loot and assist in managing the distribution.
All loot obtained from a Raid or World Boss is deposited into the Legion Warehouse to be made available for purchase via the DKP System. No exceptions.
It is to the officer's discretion if certain loot may be disenchanted to provide the Legion Warehouse/DKP Marketplace with enchantment stones instead.
It is to the group, alliance, or league captain's discretion to include other faction members in raids. This may result in no DKP being handed out upon the faction's success at accomplishing the raid or world boss. Remember that the Legion must gain the loot for DKP to be handed out. This decision may be overridden by a Senior Officer of the Legion.
Zapiel, Jeshuchi, and Vingeveu (Platform Bosses)
Currently we are in agreement with the rest of the faction that the loot obtained from these bosses are Class Roll. Class roll has been deemed, by the faction, as a main item or “reasonably usable”.
You may only invite to the faction alliance for the Platform Bosses if Jeshuchi has not spawned yet. Once Jeshuchi has spawned, all invites are closed.
DKP System
We utilize a DKP (Dragon Kill Points) system as the method of which we distribute loot and other rewards to the Legion and Friends for participation. You will find in-game items such as medals, enchantment stones, weapons, armor, and more available to purchase using DKP. Only Legion Members are allowed to use DKP on any items.
Dragon Kill Points (DKP)
DKP may be used and collected by Zephyr members and Friends only. DKP is collected by camping and killing world bosses and, occasionally, attending Legion organized events such as Fort Sieges.
Our DKP system is how we distribute loot and other rewards to the Legion and Friends for participation. You will find in-game items like medals, enchantment stones, weapons, gear, and more available to purchase using DKP.
Only Zephyr Members are able to purchase Qualifying High Tier Items via the DKP system. If there is no one that needs these items in Legion then they will be open for purchase by Legion + Friends.
Purchasing Items
Purchasing and Bidding is on a need over greed basis. Weapons will be listed with a minimum bid.
Weapon Blind Auction
All interested Legion Members will have 48 hours from the first bid to blindly bid on the weapon. You may not withdraw your bid after it has been submitted. You may only spend your remaining DKP during the 48 hours that the auction is active. You are unable to see other bids and may only bid once. Upon winning, the amount of DKP you spend is the amount of the 2nd highest bid + 1. In the event that you are the only bidder, you will obtain the item at the minimum bid price. You must at least meet the minimum bid for weapons as respectively set.
Any invalid or false bids will result in the loss of all DKP.
